China investigates Shanxi Meijin coking coal project
Shanxi Meijin Energy is suspected of contravening regulations with its 4 million tonnes/year coking project, according to a central government investigation group for environmental protection.
Shanxi has expanded coke capacity, with the local government approving three projects with a combined capacity of 7m t/y owned by Meijin, Kallanish notes.
