Shanxi Jianlong starts to operate new blast furnace
The new blast furnace at Shanxi Jianlong Steel was finally commissioned on 19 December after having been topped out at the end of July 2019, Kallanish notes.
The project is constructed by MCC 20, starting in August 2018. The new 1,680-cubic-metre blast furnace has a designed ironmaking capacity of 1.45 million tonnes/year. Shanxi Jianlong has two 630m³ blast furnaces which are being replaced, with an original capacity of 1.46m t/y.
