Shanxi Gaoyi starts blast furnace demolition
Shanxi Gaoyi Iron & Steel held a ceremony for the start of the demolition of its two 630m³ blast furnaces on Monday. The move is part of its capacity replacement project, Kallanish notes.
Work on the whole project began in March last year, and involves one 1,680m³ BF. The two BFs with 1.46 million tonnes/year of iron capacity to be demolished gave a quota of 1.45m t/y to the new BF.
