Shangang to start first Rizhao furnace construction in October
Eastern China’s Shandong Iron and Steel (Shangang) has signed Shanghai 13th Metallurgical Construction, part of China Metallurgical Group (MCC), to build the first blast furnace at its new Rizhao steelworks. The furnace will begin construction in October and finish 600 days later in June 2017, the engineering firm says.
The 5,100-cubic-metre blast furnace is one of two which will feed 8.5 million tonnes/year of crude steel capacity at the new coastal site.…
