Shandong province targets coking capacity closures
The Shandong Provincial People’s Government has affirmed its determination to limit cokemaking capacity in the province in the coming two years, Kallanish notes.
By the end of July this year, it will remove 10.31 million tonnes/year capacity by working through its upgrade and transformation plan. In 2020, it will remove 6.55m t/y, meaning that in total 16.86m t/y of capacity will be shut down.
