Shandong requires more coking capacity reduction
The Shandong Provincial Government says the province's coking capacity will be reduced from 46 million tonnes/year to about 33m t/y by the end of 2021. It mentioned this in the "Province Coking Capacity and Production Reduction Work Plan for 2021" issued this week.
Local steel mills will consequently face stricter regulations on reducing capacity, but Shandong's 2020 production suggests the target is achievable, Kallanish notes.
