Shandong over-eliminates crude steel capacity
Shandong had eliminated 23.1144 million tonnes/year of crude steel capacity by the time the Shandong Iron & Steel (Shangang) Rizhao base was put into production. This is according to a Shandong Development and Reform Commission document seen by Kallanish.
The task set in previous provincial guidance was 22.57m t/y, and the actual completed closure exceeds this by about 2.4%. The eliminated capacity involves the steelmaking equipment of 24 companies.
