Shagang commissions slab caster
Eastern China’s Shagang has commissioned a new slab caster at its Rongsheng plant as it continues to adjust its product mix, Kallanish learns.
The 2,300mm slab caster was hot tested on 30 August and has a nameplate capacity of 1.5 million tonnes/year of slab up to 150mm thick. It will be able to produce shipbuilding and boiler grades.
