Shaan Steel starts new plate mill construction
Hanzhong Iron & Steel (Hangang), a subsidiary of Shaanxi Iron and Steel Group, has started construction of a new 3,500mm medium and thick plate mill and supporting continuous slab casters, Kallanish notes.
The mill, with investment of CNY 1.8 billion ($278.9 million), is expected to add 1 million tonnes/year of medium and thick plate capacity to the company. The products will have a thickness of 8-100mm and width of 2,000-3,200mm.
