Severstal starts hot commissioning of new coke battery
Russian steelmaker and miner Severstal is preparing to launch coke battery No.11, a new unit using coal charge ramming technology, at its Cherepovets steelworks, the company says.
The company has started the hot testing phase at the second block of the coke battery, and the start of coke production is scheduled by the end of the year, it claims. The first block was commissioned in 2020.
