Severstal high-chromium slab to replace imports
Russian vertically-integrated steelmaker Severstal is in the process of patenting a new grade of high-chromium wear-resistant cast slab, the company says. This is said to have high strength and durability.
Production of a trial batch has already been launched. The test results showed that steel products made from Severstal’s own slab meet all the requirements for wear resistance and can replace imported counterparts, the enterprise claims.
