New pickling unit boosts Severstal coil range
Russian steelmaker and miner Severstal is completing commissioning of the new continuous pickling unit No.4 at its Cherepovets Steelworks (CherMK) flat steel production line, the company says.
More than 100,000 tonnes of pickled steel have already been rolled as part of testing, Kallanish notes. The line capacity is 2 million tonnes/year. It enables Severstal to produce high-quality wide galvanized, hot and cold rolled sheet of up to 1,850mm wide.
