Severstal reaches 90% iron ore self-sufficiency
Russian steelmaker and miner Severstal will increase the share of captive ore in its iron ore consumption to 90% by the end of this year, the company says. This will be up 13 percentage points on 2019 and by 20pp on 2018.
Thanks to the development of its own raw material assets and the joint work of the upstream divisions, the enterprise claims it has managed to significantly improve the quality and production of iron ore products.
