Severstal increases galvanized steel production for construction
Russian steelmaker Severstal increased production of high-zinc-coated steel in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year, with the aim of substituting imports to meet domestic demand, Kallanish notes.
Severstal quadrupled its shipments of galvanized steel of high zinc coating classes (Z450-Z600) for use in highly corrosive environments, helping to reduce operational costs and ensure long service life, the company says.
