Severstal cuts carbon emissions, plans new wire mill
Russian steelmaker and miner Severstal plans to cut carbon gas emissions by -3% over the next three years compared with 2020.
The company will invest in the construction of wire mill-170. It will also implement argon purging in the steel casting ladle, and increase the share of sintering ore from Yakovlevskiy mine in the sintering mix. There are plans to upgrade the solid fuel unit sinter plant 2, as well as to launch top-pressure recovery turbines No.16 and No.25…
