Serbian steel outlook positive after first-quarter output drops

Serbia’s crude steel production decreased year-on-year in the first quarter, but construction growth provides a positive outlook for the country’s steel industry, according to long steelmaker Metalfer. Serbian production of crude steel totalled 402,000 tonnes in Q1, down by -19.6% on-year, according to worldsteel. In March alone the country produced 131,000t, down by -28.5%.
