US lawmakers line up against 'outrageous' Nippon/USS merger
A few US lawmakers are taking a stance against the acquisition of US Steel by Japan's Nippon Steel, with one Democratic senator from US Steel's home state calling the transaction "absolutely outrageous."
In a letter to the Secretary of the Treasury and Chair of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) Janet Yellen, three Republican senators request that the department block any sale to Nippon Steel, Kallanish learns.
