Secondary mills struggle to sell rebar in UAE
Local second-tier mills and an Omani major are struggling to close rebar deals in the United Arab Emirates following proactive spot sales by the benchmark mill. It sealed deals last week, very early compared to previous months. End-user demand is reportedly good but prices are soft. Traders have built up large stocks of rebar from the benchmark mill and are therefore unwilling to buy the usual monthly volumes from other rebar suppliers, Kallanish notes.
