SDI expects lower Q2 profits
Like its electric arc furnace competitor Nucor, Steel Dynamics Inc (SDI) expects its second quarter earnings to slip due to difficulties in the flat-rolled arena, Kallanish reports.
SDI expects to report earnings of $0.60-0.64/share in Q2, down from $0.82/share ($201 million) in Q1 but up from $0.58/share ($142m) in Q2 2016.
