Scrap soars to new high in Turkey
There are very few offers in Turkey’s scrap import market. US-origin scrap offers have disappeared completely. US suppliers are heard seeking above $420/tonne cfr Turkey for HMS 80:20.
The latest EU-origin bookings were heard at $397.5/t and $400/t cfr respectively. Short-sea scrap bookings, excluding Russia, have risen to above $385/t cfr.
