Weak export market slashes US scrap prices
Scrap prices in the US domestic market have dropped again in September after increasing only once during the summer, in August, Kallanish notes.
Although there were no expectations for an increase, most US players were optimistic that scrap prices could maintain existing levels in September, as mills increase scrap demand following the holidays.
