Scrap prices soar in Taiwan
Taiwanese scrap prices soared after mills returned to the marketplace for containerised scrap, Kallanish notes. The market resumed trading this week after the Lunar new year holiday.
Deals for containerised 80:20 from US have settled at $300-303/tonne cfr, a Taipei trader says. This is more than $20/t higher than previous deals in end-January just before the market closed for the holiday.
