Scrap prices soften in Turkey
Following the retreat of Turkish mills from the market, scrap prices have started decreasing in Turkey, Kallanish notes.
Short-sea scrap prices, which stood at $270-275/tonne cfr last week, were at $265/t cfr in the most recent Romania-origin A3 deal.
A Baltic-origin scrap supplier is heard to have offered HMS 1&2 80:20 at $280/t cfr; however, it has received no interest from Turkish mills.
