Scrap prices fall further in Turkey’s absence
Most Turkish steel producers remain out of the scrap import market despite their need for April-shipment cargoes. This is mostly the result of the increased availability of offers in the market.
While US and Baltic offers stand at $445-450/tonne cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 80:20, European suppliers have decreased their offer prices to $440-445/t cfr.
Short-sea offers from Romania and Bulgaria are seen to have decreased to below $420/t cfr.
