Scrap needs incentives, metallics to tackle copper: CIX
Growing copper content in ferrous scrap means mills will need to increase the portion of ore-based metallics (OBMs) in their feedstock mix. Economic incentives are needed to encourage the separation of copper in order to provide high-quality scrap supply, says Jeremy Jones, president and managing partner of steel industry services firm CIX LLC.
