Turkish scrap marches on upwards, shredded premium widens
Scrap prices continued to rise in Turkey on fresh offers and a booking at the end of last week, Kallanish notes.
A long steel mill in northern Turkey is heard to have bought on Friday a UK-origin cargo comprising 10,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 80:20 at $491/tonne, 10,000t of shredded at $516/t and 10,000t of bonus grade at $516/t cfr Turkey.
The shredded premium over HMS 1&2 80:20 has increased to $25/t on this booking.
