Audi reuses auto scrap to make new cars
As part of a project named “MaterialLoop”, carmaker Audi and 15 research partners are taking another step towards closing more material cycles in the automotive industry.
Since last October, 100 vehicles have been dismantled as part of the project. After disassembly, the remaining car bodies were shredded and sorted into material groups comprising steel, aluminium, plastic, and glass, in cooperation with the partner companies.
