Saudi, UAE drive Mid-East DRI output growth
Middle Eastern direct reduced iron production in the four countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report increased 12% on-year in November to 3.01 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
The region’s largest producer, Iran, is estimated to have increased production 9% in November to 2.05mt. Crude steel output that month is estimated to have risen only 2.5% to 2mt.
