Saudi steel pipe scrap glut offsets winter shortage
Saudi scrap dealers are observing an abundance of steel pipe scrap in the market, which is expected to keep scrap prices flat in December, notes Kallanish.
Unchanged from last week, delivered scrap quotes are at SAR 1,450-1,470/tonne ($387-392) for HMS 80:20 grade, SAR 1,500-1,525/t for shredded and SAR 1,525-1,570/t for premium across the country. In Jeddah, bundled rebar scrap is being offered at SAR 1,500-1,525/t, with availability declining.
