Saudi rebar market seeks supply and demand equilibrium
The Saudi rebar market is suffering from unbalanced supply and demand, Kallanish notes.
According to a local sector participant citing an official announcement, "in 2022, bank financing for housing reduced nearly by 20% versus 2021, due only to high interest rates. The retail construction sector diminished in the country in the second half of 2022 and rebar demand for private housing projects is down significantly versus last year."
