Saudi rebar market observes certain size rebar shortage
Saudi Arabia's benchmark mill has halted shipments of 14mm diameter rebar to its customers, with no reason given or indication of when shipments will resume.
Last week, Al Ittefaq raised its wire rod price to SAR 2,350/tonne ($627) amid relatively good demand, notes Kallanish.
Rebar retail sales in the Jeddah area are relatively low, below monthly averages. Dammam activity is in line with monthly sales figures, but Riyadh appears to be more buoyant.
