Saudi merchant billet producers observe liquidity squeeze
Saudi Arabian merchant billet producers are observing a liquidity squeeze in the country, affecting billet sales and scrap purchase prices, notes Kallanish.
In Jeddah, HMS 1/2 grade 80:20 scrap prices fell by SAR 50/tonne ($13.3) to settle at and below SAR 1,450/t delivered. In Riyadh and Dammam, scrap supply is good but prices are volatile, ranging from SAR 1,470-1,500/t delivered for HMS 1/2 80:20.
