Saudi major joins domestic billet competition
A Saudi major could not induce interest this week by offering 130mm 5sp billet at around $515-520/tonne fob in export markets.
In the domestic market, its grade 40 billet offer is at SAR 2,000/t ($533) delivered to Riyadh, equating to SAR 1,965-1,970/t ex-works, with a minimum order requirement of 5,000t. In October, a Riyadh-based rebar re-roller booked 5,000t of grade 40 billet at SAR 1,950/t delivered to Riyadh, notes Kallanish.
