Saudi implements customs duty hike after all
Saud Arabia has ultimately increased customs duties on a variety of steel products, reversing its earlier decision to postpone the hike, Kallanish notes.
Effective 20 June, the customs duty on billet has risen from 5% to 10%, on hot rolled flat products from 5% to 10-15%, depending on the product, and on coated flats from 5% to 12-15%, depending on the product. The tariff on wire rod has been hiked from 10% to 20%, and on rebar from 10% to 15%.
