Saudi flats imports slump in March
Saudi Arabian imports of flat products under HS codes 7208-7212 fell -21% on-year in March to 168,485 tonnes, according to new General Authority for Statistics data monitored by Kallanish.
This was due mainly to a -24% drop in hot rolled flats imports to 122,180t.
This was despite imports of HR plate above 10mm thick soaring 98% to 47,261t, driven by a 13-fold increase from China to 16,521t, and Japan supplying 15,118t versus only 350t in March 2017…
