Saudi demand lifts Turkish billet exports in July
Turkish semi-finished product exports, the vast majority of which were billet, surged 121% on-year in July to 105,535 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. This was also up from 59,999t in June.
HS code 720711 billet accounted for 102,239t, of which 55,000t was shipped to Saudi Arabia versus zero a year earlier. Egypt and Ethiopia took in 25,100t and 14,263t respectively versus zero.
