Saudi billet prices slide following rebar price reduction
Saudi Arabian merchant billet producers have inched down their billet quotes by SAR 50-100/tonne ($13.3-26.6) on-week. This follows the benchmark mill’s April-rolling rebar price reduction by SAR 150/t last Sunday.
However, billet producers and scrap suppliers are still waiting for the benchmark mill's new scrap buying price announcement, typically made on the same day as the rebar price is declared for the following month, Kallanish notes.
