Saudi billet prices fluctuate amid low demand
Amid a sluggish market, Saudi Arabian billet prices have fallen just a few days after they inched up at the start of this week when scrap prices gained SAR 50/tonne ($13.3) on-week. Scrap traders held back material, which elevated quotes, Kallanish notes.
"Rebar re-rollers have billet demand, but their target price is low. Due to scrap cost, we cannot meet their price level,” a senior Dammam merchant billet mill official opines.
