Saudi billet market enjoys its heyday
Saudi Arabia's billet market is living its heyday. Demand is high, billet prices have improved slightly on last week's quotes, and scrap prices are comparatively low, giving mills reasonable margins, Kallanish notes.
This week, induction furnace 130/150mm 4sp billet is transacted at SAR 2,265-2,325/tonne ($604-620) ex-works. The lower margin is for regular billet grade and higher is for magnesium enriched special grade.
