Saudi Arabia, Turkey drive up Lebanese rebar imports
Lebanese rebar imports surged 68% on-year in December 2018 to 61,835 tonnes, according to Lebanese Customs data monitored by Kallanish. Their average value was $533.8/tonne versus $510/t in December 2017.
Rebar imports in full-year 2018 thus rose 10% on-year to 645,034t.
The main supplier was Ukraine, although intake from there declined -26% to 345,833t. Imports from Saudi Arabia, however, soared to 182,385t from only 5,005t in 2017. Intake also increase…
