Saudi approves new regulations for rebar-boosting land tax
Saudi Arabia’s plan to impose a tax on undeveloped land within city limits to encourage rebar-consuming real-estate development has advanced with the approval of a number of regulations. However, the schedule for implementation remains unknown.
The so-called ‘white’ land tax will apply to empty land designated for residential and commercial use within the urban growth boundaries of all cities, the Saudi Council of Ministers ruled this week.
