Samarco shareholders face new compensation order

The Brazilian 4th Federal Court of Minas Gerais has ordered Samarco's shareholders, Vale and BHP, to pay $50 million in moral damages for disclosing counter-advertising material in 2021 about the Fundão dam rupture, Kallanish notes.
