Samancor Chrome issues force majeure on Covid-19 lockdown
Samancor Chrome has issued a force majeure to its customers in response to South Africa’s three-week lockdown from 26 March to combat the spread of Covid-19, the miner confirms to Kallanish.
A host of South African chrome ore and manganese ore miners announced last week they were suspending operations following the lockdown, while Kumba Iron Ore reduced but continued output (see Kallanish passim and separate article).
