Samalaju steel project receives approval
Malaysia’s Samalaju steel project, planned by Hebei Xinwu'an Iron & Steel, has been approved by the Malaysian Federal Government, according to a report from China’s Ministry of Commerce.
The report says the construction of this project will start soon. It is planned to reach 5 million tonnes/year of flat steel production in the first phase, and then increase capacity to 10m t/y, Kallanish notes.
