Germany’s Salzgitter has appointed a new chairman of its supervisory board, Kallanish learns.

Current incumbent Rainer Thieme will step down from both that position and membership of the supervisory board on 31 March, the company says in a release. Thieme has been a member of the board since 2004 and assumed the position of Chairman on 1 April 2007.

The steelmaker has appointed Heinz-Gerhard Wente as its new supervisory board chairman as from 1 April 2016. Wente has been a member of the board since 16 September 2015. He was previously supervisory board member at automotive industry supplier Continental.
