Salzgitter allies with Showa Denko for EAF transition
Salzgitter has forged a strategic supply partnership for the delivery of graphite electrodes from Japan’s Showa Denko Carbon, Kallanish learns.
Showa Denko Carbon acquired in 2017 the electrode business of German group SGL Carbon, which delivered most of the UHP graphite electrodes for Salzgitter’s electric arc furnaces since Peine’s mini-mill was commissioned in 1996.
