Sail’s RSP posts record steel production in 2021
Steel Authority of India (Sail) entity Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) produced 3.99 million tonnes of crude steel in 2021, Kallanish notes. Hot metal and saleable steel – semi-finished and finished steel – production was noted at 4.37mt and 3.69mt, respectively.
RSP also clocked specific energy consumption of 6.02 giga calories/tonne of crude steel (Gcal/tcs) in 2021, marking the lowest figure for any calendar year.
