Safe Alloy secures funding for Oman ferrochrome smelter
Sarojini Ferro Alloys (Safe Alloy) has secured finance from Meethaq Islamic Bank for the construction of its low-carbon ferrochrome smelter in Sohar Freezone, Oman, a Safe Alloy official tells Kallanish.
The smelter will produce up to 16,500 tonnes/year of 0.05-0.1% carbon, 60-70% chrome content ferrochrome for export to Europe, the US, Japan, South Korea and India. Construction is set to begin next month, with commissioning scheduled by end-2018. Chrome ore fee…
