Saarstahl, Dillinger eye recovery after heavy losses
Saarland steelmakers Saarstahl and Dillinger suffered heavy losses for a second consecutive year in 2020, the enterprises said at their annual press conference monitored by Kallanish. This was mainly due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Saarstahl reported pre-tax losses, contributing to a group net loss of €171.2 million ($203.6m), after a loss of €127.6m achieved in 2019. The company reduced sales 23.7% on-year to €1.7 billion.
