Russia’s steel consumption could decline 7%: Severtsal
Russian vertically-integrated steelmaker Severstal expects a decline in steel consumption in Russia in 2020, Kallanish notes.
“In the baseline scenario, if there are no tough quarantine measures, steel consumption in the Russia market is likely to fall by -6.4-7% on-year,” says chief executive Alexsander Shevelev. “Moreover, according to our product mix, the decline may be even slightly lower.”
